Quarantined Nepalis test negative of coronavirus

Kathmandu, February 19

Nepalis evacuated from China and quarantined in Kharipati have tested negative for coronavirus.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 175 Nepalis who were evacuated from Hubei province, an epicenter for coronavirus outbreak have shown no symptoms of the disease.

Nepalis evacuated from Hubei province are under quarantine at the Nepal Electricity Authority Training Center, Kharipari, Bhaktapur after the government airlifted them on Saturday.

A team from NPHL had collected nasal and throat swab of the China evacuees on Sunday.

The laboratory tests were conducted on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

According to the health ministry the tests will be carried out again after the end of the quarantine period.
