Government withdraws Visit Nepal Year 2020, appoints new health secretary

After the spread of coronavirus globally the Nepal government has finally decided to withdraw Visit Nepal Year 2020.
A council of ministers' meeting held at Prime Minister's residence today decided to withdraw all programmes of visit Nepal year on proposal made by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Aviation Minister Yogesh Bhattarai. The governement has decided so to prevent the spread of the disease which had its epicenter it Wuhan, a city in China.
 
With the global spread of the virus there has been a decline in the number of tourists in the country. The hotels are empty and the business of travel agencies have declined.
 
Meanwhile, the council of ministers' meeeting also decided to appoint Yadav Koirala in the position of secretary in the Ministry of Health and Populaiton. Earlier secretary Kagaraj Baral has been tranferred to vice-president's office. Koirala was at Minsitry of Home Affairs earlier.  
 
Also all trekking route like annapurna base camp trek had also been closed
