Kathmandu, January 8
Durga Prasai, executive director of proposed B&C Medical College in Jhapa today revealed that vice-chairman of Medical Education Commission demanded a sum of Rs 20 crore to grant affiliation to the medical college.
Organising a press conference in the Capital on Wednesday Prasai said that Dr Giri asked him to come to Battisputali based Dwarika's Hotel and demanded the money. "I was called in the hotel and was asked to give Rs 20 crore money. But I said I can't. Dr Giri asked me to give 10 per cent of the medical college's share to his relative.
Dr Giri also said that he should divide the money to Education Minister Girirajmani Pokharel and NCP leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
